Urticaria (Hives)
A skin disorder characterized by multiple patches of red, swollen, and itchy skin. it can appear anywhere on the body including the lips, tongue.
Eczema nasi of dogs (Nasal solar dermatitis)
An abnormal reaction of the skin to the sunlight. It occurs during the summer season, the skin is depigmented and becomes pink to bright red and sore.
Sarcoptic mange
A highly contagious and zoonotic disease caused by Sarcoptic scabiei var canis mites that cause Intense pruritus, irritation, and It begins as red small papules which are then covered with scab.
Demodectic mange
Non-contagious, non-zoonotic disease caused by Demodex canis mites that cause erythema, papules, edema, hyperpigmentation, crusts, bloody or purulent patches of alopecia around eyes and body.
Cheyletiella Dermatitis (Walking Dandruff)
A highly contagious and zoonotic disease produced by cheyletiella spp. mites that cause scaling or dandruff, mild to severe Pruritis, and skin scales on the back and upper part of the body.
Dermatomycosis (Ringworm)
A contagious and zoonotic disease caused by a fungal infection that causes reddened and ulcerated skin, circular scaly patches with broken hair inside, and varying degrees of scaling and crusts.
Lupus
An autoimmune disease that affects the skin and causes crusting and scabbing of the skin around the nose, loss of skin pigmentation, and the nasal planum become smooth with bleeding.
Pancreatitis
An inflammation of the pancreas that causes vomition, abdominal pain, distended abdomen with painful palpation, walking with an arched back, and general weakness.
Hepatitis
Inflammation of the liver is associated with fibrosis. It causes lack of appetite, weight loss, jaundice, ascites, gastrointestinal troubles, photosensitization, and in severe cases cause death.
Gastritis
Inflammation of the gastric mucosa. It is characterized by Vomition that may contain blood or mucous, abdominal pain, praying position, emaciation, and weakness.
Enteritis
Inflammation of the intestinal mucosa is caused by bacteria, viruses, Parasites characterized by diarrhea, Melina (black tar feces), abdominal pain, pale oral mucosa, cold extremities, emaciation, and weakness.
Constipation
Difficult and painful evacuation of the fecal matter caused by poor diet, not enough fiber, dehydration. It is characterized by loss of appetite, abdominal pain, straining without producing much stool.
Gastric Dilatation (volvulus)
Condition in which the stomach fills with gas and becomes overstretched with its content then rotates around itself. It causes abdominal pain, excessive salivation, grunting sound with respiration, and retching movement without vomiting.
Megaesophagus
Disturbances in the motor supply of the esophagus resulted in abnormal transport of the ingesta from the pharynx to the stomach. It causes regurgitation, aspiration pneumonia, and weight loss.
Anal sacculitis
Inflammation of the anal glands is caused by infection or obstruction of the anal sac ducts. It causes scooting on the ground, frequent attempts to bite the anal opening, inflammation of the anal region, constipation.
Stomatitis
Inflammation of the buccal cavity, characterized by an increase in salivation, redness, ulceration of the oral membrane, and loss of appetite.
Periodontitis
Inflammation of the periodontal membrane is caused by the accumulation of dental plaque and tartar on the teeth. It is characterized by loosing of teeth, salivation, swelling of the gum, inability for mastication.
Cheilitis
Inflammation of the mucosa of labial folds is caused by local injury to mouth mucosa, calicivirus, uremic gastropathy. It is characterized by Halitosis (fetid odor of the mouth), salivation, anorexia, rubbing of the lips.
Gingivitis
Inflammation of the gum is caused by local irritation, dental caries, and bacteria. It is characterized by a red inflammatory band at the neck of teeth, edema, and swelling in the gum and it is tender and easily bled.
Tonsillitis
Inflammation of the lymphoid tissue of tonsils is caused by bacterial infection, lodged foreign body in tonsils. It is characterized by fever, dysphagia, salivation, moist cough, enlarged tonsils, pinpoint gray abscess on the tonsils.
